Core book fulfillment complete and now available on IPR!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Jul 09, 2019 at 02:54:58 AM

Kixto

Kixto received the book first, as they were shipped by airmail. Unfortunately, several were damaged by FedEx. So all non UK and EU backers that were to be fulfilled by Kixto had to be fulfilled out of the US. Kixto's fulfillment went smoothly and most should have arrived by now. Did you get you book in EU or the UK yet? I'd love to see a cool pic of Free Spacer there!

Canada

I received my books here in Vancouver next. Likewise, FedEx managed to damage a few of mine too, but I ordered extra so I would have some to hand sell to all the nerds that I meet at conventions, so I had plenty to fulfill mine. Damage is unfortunate, but it does mean that I have some discounted battle damaged books to sell. According to Canada Post the last one arrived in Kitchener today! All that is left is the books for those that ordered the printed Sector Archives, they're taking longer then I hoped, but more on that below. Did you get you book in Canada yet? I'd love to your Free Spacer pics!

Indie Press Revolution

Finally, Indie Press Revolution received their pallets of books last and Jason tells me that: "There was not a single damaged copy anywhere. The printer did a really good job of packaging these, and they came in well palatalized. I hold my hat over my heart in reverence to whomever they put in charge of that." IPR has finished all of their fulfillment, so everyone in the US should be getting your copies soon, while everyone in Australia, New Zealand, Norway, and Asia will take a little longer. Now that all the core books are fulfilled, the book is available at: https://www.indiepressrevolution.com/xcart/Random-Alien-Games/

Sector Archives

The Printed Sector Archives are still going slowly, we have the proof and will be submitting a some changes before I order them. Once ordered, they will take a few week to arrive depending on where you are, if you are outside Canada you'll be getting them shipped directly, but in Canada I'll be shipping it with your book. If you ordered the Sector Archives POD Code you should get it and the PDFs soon.

Discord Server

Finally, like I said last time, I have opened the Free Spacer Discord channel to all of you wonderful nerds. Please come by and talk about all things Free Spacer, ask questions, and hang out: https://discord.gg/mhQZAdT

Digital

All of the release versions of Free Spacer content are out or coming out by next week. I have updated the Free Spacer Game Resources (character sheets and such), the Roll20 Sheets,  the Free Spacer core book, and the Sector Archives PDF. The Sector Archives PDF might take a couple of days to get approved. You will have recieved notifications for your PDF through DriveThruRPG and through BackerKit.

Sector Archives

The Printed Sector Archives are still going through the print-proofing process with DriveThruRPG / Lightning Source, but it is taking longer then I hoped. So, you'll be getting them later then the core book. For Canadians, if you didn't order the Printed Sector Archives, I'll send your books out right away. If you did, I'll wait for the Printed Sector Archives to ship yours. Finally, the Sector Archives POD Code is waiting on the same print-proofing process as the printed version, once their  available for order I'll send out the codes.

Discord Server

Finally, now that google plus is gone. it is hard to stay in touch. Please, if you want to talk about the game, chat with me, or whatever. You can join the Free Spacer Discord channel: https://discord.gg/mhQZAdT

Printing, Shipping, and the Sector Archives Cover Reveal

Addresses Locked

In preperation for shipping, I've now locked all addresses on BackerKit. If you didn't get the email 48 hours before I locked it down, please contact me before Monday and I'll unlock yours so that you can update your address. Fortunally, everyone with physical rewards has filled out their Surveys. There are still a few of you with PDF only rewards that haven't filled out your Surveys. If this is you, please fill out your survey; I want to send your rewards to the right email address.

DriveThruRPG

Like I mentioned in Update#18, I'll be sending out the PDFs using DriveThruRPG. Again, I am using DriveThruRPG for a two main reasons. First, it is standard in the community and many of you already have accounts with them. Second, it will allow me to update your PDF, so if you've claimed your proofreader copy of the book on DriveThruRPG, you get an update of the final version.

If you don't want to use DriveThruRPG, I will also send out all the PDF rewards to everyone using BackerKit.

Sector Archives

The Sector Archives are finished and are going through the print-proofing process with DriveThruRPG / Lightning Source. I'm hoping for a quick turn around on this, but as the physical reward is shipping seperately (except in Canada) this just means you may get it later then the core book. Remember there are two version of the Sector Archives, the Player and Gamemaster version. You get both as PDFs, but only the Player version will be printed. As the document is mostly, prep and setting sheets like you would make, there is no art, but we did decide to make a nice cover.

Printing

For the last couple weeks, I've been coordinating with Friesens (the Printer) and my two fulfillment houses (Kixto and IPR) to set up shipping. Right now as I write this, Friesens is printing the book in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It is pretty cool to see them transform this game into physical form. I talked to my rep their and made some video to share with you all.
